MKM Constructions are building new facilities for McCallum Disability Services as part of a housing initiative developed by Housing Choices Australia, promoting sustainable living for people with disabilities. There are currently three shared supported accommodations in Ballarat, and MKM Constructions are building the fourth facility.

Albert street units

Albert Street Accommodation, Sebastopol

Housing Choices Australia provides accommodation for individuals living with disabilities. These units provide a sustainable and beneficial environment for residents, encouraging independent living and welcoming an attitude of community integration. Some people need daily support, and residential projects like this will allow for that. Housing Choices Australia managing director, Michael Lennon remarks “in the past, this has been provided through state institutions”. These accommodations include plenty of private space, independent areas for residents of each unit and an exterior that perfectly blends into the streetscape surrounding it.

MKM Constructions and McCallum Disability Services have worked together in the past, and we are proud to be working on other projects with the organisation. The build consists of four units, each with two bedrooms and a staff unit, and is located in Sebastopol. Completion is expected later this month and MKM Constructions are very happy with how construction is coming along. We are excited to see how the future of this build will benefit individuals in Ballarat for years to come.
