Manufacturing

According to a recent study conducted by Industry Search, 87 per cent of Australians are still buying locally made product when they can, and the Australian Made Campaign is leveraging this. Australian Made Campaign, the organisation responsible for the recognisable logo below, has developed a new initiative: ‘Boundless Plains’, dedicated to enhancing Australia’s agriculture sector, promoting Australian brands and encouraging a reinvigoration to Australia’s manufacturing industry.

Australian Made

Thinking back to Australia’s foray into manufacturing in the 1960s, where 25 percent of our gross domestic product (GDP) came from our local manufacturing industry, nowadays, the appeal of international manufacturing has taken all but 10 per cent of what we once had. We think it’s time to bring it back. Why? Because of lower delivery costs, less environmental impact, more jobs and ultimately, just showing our good ol’ competitive Australian spirit, that says: we can stand beside the manufacturing giants of the world, and hold our own.

‘Boundless Plains’ is just the beginning of seeing the manufacturing industry grow, through a world-first national and international community knowledge exchange program for Australian agribusiness. The agriculture sector is close to home for MKM Constructions, considering a huge percentage of our builds are in the sector. This initiative from the Australian Made Campaign will attract business investment and encourage conversation around the agricultural industry. More conversation means more action. More action means more demand for a greater local manufacturing industry.

More conversation means more action. More action means more demand for a greater local manufacturing industry.

MKM Constructions, like 87 per cent of Australians, are proud to support local businesses, local manufacturers and Australian made product. We will always buy Aussie when we can. It would be superb to see a growing manufacturing industry alongside our growing construction industry. We look forward to following this closely, and seeing how the national industry grows.
