At MKM Building Group, connection and care are central to who we are—both on site and beyond. On May 22nd, we hosted our second Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea, and this year’s event reflected our values in every way: bigger, brighter, and more meaningful than ever.
For the first time, we welcomed guests into our new headquarters, where a lively, welcoming atmosphere set the tone. With a larger kitchen, a bigger crowd, and a greater impact, everything came together to make the morning truly special.
Once again, the driving force behind the day was Alison Lamb, one of our project managers, who brought her energy, heart, and attention to detail to every part of the event. With Alison leading the charge, our team came together with subcontractors, clients, friends and family — all united by a cause that matters to so many.
The food tables said it all — a colourful spread of entirely home-baked treats. There were golden scones served with jam and cream, sliced Biscoff banana bread, fresh-cut sandwiches, party pies and sausage rolls, plus a vibrant hummus platter. Everything was made from scratch by our team. Add in good coffee, a few chilled mimosas, and the sound of laughter echoing through the office, it was the perfect recipe for a truly special morning.

Most importantly, we raised over $4,000 for the Cancer Council — a reflection of the generosity and trust within our extended community.
This event is more than a morning tea. It’s a growing tradition that embodies our care for others and our commitment to making a difference, whether in our industry, networks, or personal lives.
To everyone who contributed—thank you. Whether you baked, donated, attended, or helped spread the word, your support made this event what it was.
And to Alison—thank you for your ongoing leadership and passion. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and of the culture of trust, care, and commitment we continue to nurture.
We’re already looking forward to continuing this tradition in 2026. Until then, here’s to innovation in how we support each other, strong connections, and a future with better outcomes for those affected by cancer.
