Project Overview

Function and presentation were equally important in the design and construction of the new facility for Kane Transport. The brief called for a large warehouse with only a small office area, while still presenting a strong, professional presence to the street. MKM addressed this by designing a wide-fronted façade that creates a sense of scale while accommodating all essential front-of-house spaces, including a reception area, kitchen, amenities, meeting room and a compact office zone. Behind the façade, the facility supports general freight handling, container storage for wharf cartage, warehousing and distribution services, and a dedicated mechanical workshop for fleet servicing.

Project Success and Impact

The completed facility brings Kane Transport’s key operations together in one efficient location. On-site storage, distribution and vehicle servicing, allows for smoother workflows, reduced downtime and improved turnaround times. The considered street-facing design gives the business a strong and professional presence, showing how practical operational needs and visual impact can work hand in hand to support long-term growth.
